A Seshagiri Rao - Advisor
Mr. Seshagiri Rao started his carrier as an Indian Railway Service Officer (IRSSE Cadre of 1982 Exam) in 1984 and worked in various positions in Executive Cadre in the Railway. He executed various works in Divisions and Zonal Headquarters and is well versed with the procedures of Govt. working. At the level of Senior Management, he was instrumental in detailing the works programme of South Central Railway for acceptance at Board level.
He joined RailTel Corporation of India, a Schedule A Mini Ratna PSU as a Founding Member of Southern Region and built it from scratch to a size that yielded the revenue of Rs.200 crores per year and became the best performing zone out of all 4 zones. The procedures and processes were set by him which were then adopted by RailTel as a whole both in stores and work matters.
From the Regional Headquarters then he joined as a Board Member of RailTel as Director/Marketing in 2012 and converted the organization from a simple Bandwidth provider of Rs.300 crores revenue per year to Rs.1,000 crores per year by the time he moved as CMD of TCIL. A lot of new initiatives were taken both in terms of work and business duly following the Govt. set of guidelines and rules. Maintained an unblemished record of service record of service from start of my career till today.
As CMD of TCIL, the company turnover was increased by more than 30% from Rs.1,139 crores to Rs.1,610 crores. In addition, he maintained an impeccable personal record. With the wide experience gained in Govt. working of Indian Railways subsequently as a Director of a Schedule A PSU for 5 years and turning around the PSU to a large size while maintain the integrity to highest level and later as CMD for 2 years where the turnover of the company increased by more than 30 % and TCIL entered into many new areas of Telecom & IT again turning around the company to a transformative one.
